OVERVIEW
Created as part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, QOZs were established to spur long-term investment and economic development in underserved census tract areas by providing three key tax incentives
DEMOGRAPHICS & MARKET
An Opportunity Zone is an economically-distressed community where new investments, under certain conditions, may be eligible for preferential tax treatment.
AFTER-TAX BENEFIT
The new provision provides a flexible deferral mechanism for short and long term capital gains for current investments in nearly all asset classes.
